I always love meeting new models, especially male models, as we have’t interviewed many of them here yet. Our next interviewee started modeling back in 2016 and is making quite a name for himself in the world of gothic modeling. Apart from his modeling, he has plans for the future, studying at the Czech Agriculture University. He goes by the modeling name of Mörk Själ, which is Swedish and means “Dark Soul” or “Broken Soul” Anyways, on to the interview!
Luny: Please tell everyone your modeling name and where you are from.
Mörk Själ: Hi. I am from Czech Republic in small town Jirkov (North part of Republic). My artistic name “Mörk Själ” means in Swedish “Dark Soul” or “Broken Soul”. I chose Sweden because I like Sweden very much. It’s a beautiful country and I have a lot of great friends there. I chose the choice of this artwork, because it is exactly such a deadly and crazy face that I show the world.
Luny: I see you are somewhat new to the world of modeling? How has it been so far? The good and bad?
Mörk Själ: Yes, in the world of gothic / art modeling, I’m somewhat new. It started in 2016, before I wrote books and poems with a horror theme, but it stopped me and I wanted to capture my thoughts visually. The first year was probably the hardest. As a student, you have limited options. But I have a lot of friends who help me. Now I’m going to university, so it should be quieter and I should have more time. Great to do this is that I met great people with whom I continue to work.
Luny: Where have been some of your favorite places to take pictures so far?
Mörk Själ: This is a really hard question! : D We create our artistic photos mainly in deserted places. We have a combined photograph of exploring abandoned places. It’s really great! If I should pick up a few places, it is definitely a great place for me to leave the crazy cemetery in Prague. It has a rich history, there were buried the greatest murderers, arsonists and the like in the history of Czechoslovakia. In the second half of the 20th century there were satanic and other occult rituals, so the cemetery was closed. Every person has to act horribly and it is an impulse for me to go there. : D

Luny: What are a few things someone may not know about you and you’d like to set them straight?
Mörk Själ: Some people may think I’m really crazy. They condemn the pictures and my art, but my friends could confirm that I can even laugh and do it very often. : D I have two faces. One for art, I show my fool’s face there. But among friends are the same jokes. Also, someone thinks I do not live a simple life. But I have a very ordinary and boring life! : D I go to school, work, play PC games, watch TV, and so on.Among other things, I am very interested in nature and its protection. I sort waste and I try to get people to know what they are doing. Maybe a lot of people do not know about me and they would not even say it to me. I’m even going to study at the university, I want to help the planet.
Luny: What do you see in the future as far as your modeling career goes?
Mörk Själ: I do not like to talk about the future very much, because most of the time the expectations will not be fulfilled. : D But at least in the near future I still have a few projects that can look very interesting. I personally look forward to it and I hope the results will be worth it and will like other people. But otherwise, the future is quite covered in fog. Within 2 months I will deal with moving, new housing, so it will probably be my greatest concern.
Luny: When you’re upset, what are some ways you calm down?
Mörk Själ: I have no problem with rage. It was quite surprising to me, too, because my father is a notorious rage. I do not have the best relationships with him and that’s why I try to behave completely differently. I deal with the cold head. And for a very long time I was not really upset. But if it happens, I will mostly get rid of myself when I remember my father. When I see how furious it is, I remember that I do not want to be like him and the rage is gone for a while.
Luny: Give us a short list of some of your favorite bands or musical tastes
Mörk Själ: Music is very important to me. And my absolute number is the Swedish band ELEINE. Friends of their singer, we even saw them when they were in Prague at the Tour with Moonspell. It’s a melodic metal, but I like all the metal and Gothic music. The band that influenced me in childhood was definitely Slipknot. I was at their concert and I enjoyed it as much as possible. And another band I can mention is Mushroomhead. As far as electronic music is concerned, I can do it here as far as Gothic genres are concerned. There are the main stars for me Psyclon Nine and Hocico! I listen to you the most.
Luny: What designers, brands, manufacturers, or companies would you love to model for and why?
Mörk Själ: Wait. I have to think. No, I do not have to. It’s definitely Draculaclothing and KILLSTAR. Both brands do great things! There are quite a few expensive things in the Czech Republic, but that is absolutely fine. All the clothes are really good, they care about their work. And they are truly world brands. Among ordinary mortals I could compare their size and quality with PUMA or NIKE.
Luny: I see you were accepted to the Czech Agriculture University in Prague. What sort of profession or career do you plan to have after you graduate?
Mörk Själ: Yes, as I have already said, I want to devote myself to more protection of nature. I will study closely the field of “trickle agriculture”. It is about helping agriculture in developing countries mainly Africa and Asia. There is a big problem with this, and I would like to help them to treat plants and animals so that it helps both humans and nature itself.

Luny: Finally, is there anyone you’d like to say thank you to or any websites you’d like our readers to visit?
Mörk Själ: I would definitely like to thank my family and my close friends who still support me in what I do. I would like to thank photographers and other models I have had the honor of cooperating with. I would also like to thank singer Madeleine and the whole band ELEINE, who supports me.
And your readers. I hope you enjoy your work.
